Aaranya Rajasingam is a women’s rights and peace activist from Sri Lanka. At present she is an Advisor at GIZ in the Strengthening Reconciliation Processes in Sri Lanka (SRP) Programme. Within this role, she is directly involved in supporting partners engaged in research, advocacy and campaigns on hate speech in social media, and promoting collaboration between multi-stakeholders to promote social cohesion and peacebuilding online. Prior to this she was the Executive Direcrtor of Viluthu, a local NGO, the Communications Specialist at the UNDP and the Regional Liaison Officer for GPPAC South Asia. Her thematic interests are good governance, participatory democracy, social media and film making. She has an MSc. in Strategic Studies and a B.A. in English Literature.
