Branka Panic

Branka Panic is the Founding Director of AI for Peace, a think tank dedicated to ensuring that artificial intelligence benefits peace, security, and sustainable development, while diverse voices shape the development of AI and related technologies. She is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center on International Cooperation at NYU, where she researches data-driven approaches to conflict prevention and peacebuilding. She hosts the online series “Data for Peace” and is part of UNESCO Women4Ethical AI. She also serves as a Senior Advisor on AI to the German Federal Foreign Office. 

With 15 years of global experience in the humanitarian, peace, and development fields, Branka focuses on the benefits, risks, and ethical implications of emerging technologies. She holds an M.A. in International Development Policy from Duke University and an M.S. in International Security from the University of Belgrade. She is a Rotary Peace Fellow Alumna and co-authored the book “AI for Peace” (2024).
