Lena Slachmuijlder works at the intersection of technology, peace, and conflict. As Senior Advisor for Digital Peacebuilding at Search for Common Ground, she supports peacebuilders in harnessing technology — from deliberative platforms to AI — to advance peace outcomes in conflict-affected settings worldwide. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Council on Tech and Social Cohesion, convening technologists, peacebuilders, researchers, and policy influencers to advance pro-social tech design across policy, product, and practice. Drawing on 25 years in peacebuilding, media, and multi-stakeholder engagement, Lena works to ensure emerging technologies strengthen dialogue, inclusion, and collective resilience rather than deepen polarization or violence. Based in Brussels, she bridges global policy debates with locally rooted peacebuilding practice.
