As a secondee from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Mona has been part of the FriEnt team since June 2026, where she focuses in particular on feminist peacebuilding. Since 2022, she has worked at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), advising the BMZ at the intersection of religion, peace, and security. Her work brings together different disciplinary perspectives on peacebuilding. 

Previously, she participated in the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs, focusing on religion- and culture-sensitive approaches to peace work. Mona studied International Social Work as well as Religious and Cultural Studies. As a trained mediator, she has several years of experience in conflict transformation in non-governmental and international organisations. Her work focuses on the religious and cultural dimensions of dialogue and peace processes, as well as on incorporating diverse voices and experiences. She has worked and conducted research in Indonesia, Lebanon, and Iraq, among other countries.
