Samiullah Hamidee is a peace and anticorruption activist. His NGO promotes nonviolence through modern and traditional civil society approaches. Sami’s NGO provides peace and anti-corruption education. His contribution to the development of the Civil Society Mechanism for Peace has been recognized as integral. He has led the creation of the Civil Society Mechanism for Anticorruption – a national platform for anti-corruption advocacy – that enhances civil society participation in the efforts against corruption. Sami facilitates the Anti-corruption Civil Tradition (ACT), a national civil society anti-corruption initiative.
Sami also directs a Practical Legal Education and Legal Aid program. His NGO facilitates the Afghanistan Consortium of Legal Clinics – a coalition of over 22 private university free legal clinics. The Consortium consists of university legal clinics providing pro bono legal assistance to the poor and disadvantaged. This includes provision of free legal assistance to victims of corruption.
