Brice de Schietere is Head of Division at the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Union’s diplomatic service. His Division covers the Integrated Approach for Security and Peace. From 2016 to 2020, he was deputy Head of Mission and acting Head of Mission of the EU Delegation to Canada, before which Brice de Schietere was based with the EEAS in Brussels as political assistant to the Managing Director for North Africa, Middle East, Arabian Peninsula, Iran and Iraq. Previously, he was posted in Washington as Political Counselor. Brice de Schietere has extensive experience working in the fields of external relations and enlargement of the EU since 1998, and has been serving as lecturer on EU foreign policy at the European College of Parma (Italy) since 2009.
