International Alert

Cindy is International Alerts Regional Director in Africa. She joined International Alert in June 2017. Prior to her current role, she was International Alert’s Country Director in Nigeria until December 2019. Before joining Alert, she worked for several years in the peacebuilding sector in west and central Africa, the Sahel and in the Democratic Republic of Congo. During this time she worked on a range of issues, including youth and women’s participation in peacebuilding, community-based conflict resolution, countering violent extremism, security sector reform, sustainable business practices and land rights, elections, and conflict sensitivity in humanitarian and development practice. She has a BA in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University, an MA in International Relations from King’s College London and an MA in International Security from Sciences Po, Paris.

The FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum is a series of events on current and overarching challenges and trends in peacebuilding. With the Peacebuilding Forum, we want to provide future-oriented impulses for the development of peacebuilding and strengthen the visibility and importance of the policy field in its entirety.
