Salaam Movement of the Ateneo de Davao University, Philippines

Fatima Star U. Lamalan is the Project Coordinator for Salaam Movement of the Ateneo de Davao University, a youth-led and youth-serving program that focuses on positive peace-building and preventing violent extremism among in-school and grassroots-level youths in Mindanao. In relation to this field, Star has taken part in the development of the Philippine's National Action Plan on PCVE and was also invited to present this National Action Plan before the Philippine Administration in Malacañang. As Project Officer for Salaam Movement, she spearheaded the Salaam Corps, a group of youth leaders who are refined to be Mindanao's home-grown Peace Champions. She can also be attributed to Salaam's Peace Education Curriculum Modules for integration into the Philippine Educational System. She has worked with local and international organizations alike in implementing these regular programs and presenting relevant findings before bigger national and international platforms.
